Profile

I am a senior electron microscopist and materials scientist specialising in the experimental study of materials for energy and optoelectronics, using electron-microscopy-guided synthesis of exotic materials at the atomic scale. My work combines vapour/liquid phase local encapsulation, AC-TEM/STEM imaging, spectroscopy and in-situ characterisation to understand structure–property correlations. I have published over 60 peer-reviewed papers, with an h-index of 30 and more than 2,700 citations. Over 90% of my publications appear in Q1 journals (JCR, WoS). I have secured national funding as PI and contributed to large EPSRC consortia as a named researcher, and I maintain a broad international collaboration network.
